The literary department hosts monthly open mic events called Coffee House. Their mission statement is “to provide an outlet for student artists to be heard in an exciting, expressive, welcoming, and creative environment.” Normally, this event is held in-person in an intimate, aesthetic location, but due to the ongoing pandemic, the event has been pre-filmed.

This month’s theme was “Woodland Dreams,” and the hosts were Maleigh Crespo and Maple Hays. They invited students to present works inspired by nature and woodland creatures.

Tune in next month for “Realistic Illusions,” hosted by Stephyne Weathersby and Katie Spiers. They are encouraging works inspired by an alternate reality or the 90s jazz poetry era.
