About Us

From the late summer of 2020, RISE emerged—the first student-led, digital newspaper for Mississippi School of the Arts. Despite being first organized by senior literary, Maleigh Crespo, RISE owes its existence to committed students belonging to various arts disciplines, each student in possession of a unique voice deserving of attention.

Through RISE, MSA’s diverse student population—consisting of young artists calling numerous Mississippi counties home—is united through shared opinion and perspective. Every article intends to inform or entertain, content extended to the public in order to provide a glimpse into life as an MSA student.

Join RISE every Thursday for fresh content where students imagine, create, and realize.
