Maleigh is a freshman at Loyola University New Orleans and an iced coffee enthusiast. She enjoys writing nonfiction and poetry but hopes that her affliction for short fiction will one day subside. In her free time, she can be found scrolling through Pinterest or with her beloved cat, Manny.

Recently, some literary arts students won awards for their contest submissions.

Senior literary and RISE Fashion Editor, Stephyne Weathersby

Weathersby received third place in the William Faulkner student short story contest.

Senior Literary and RISE Editor-in-Chief, Callie Matthews

Callie Matthews received second place in the William Faulkner student short story contest. Matthews was also one of the five winners for the Eudora Welty Ephemera Prize.

Gardening Club Makes a Comeback

Gardening club leaders, McLain Boyd and Maple Hays, with sponsor, Vickie Foster, had their first gardening club meeting on Tuesday. They have begun to cultivate the soil and are ready to plant some things!
